It does get warm even with light use, but I never did hear the fans and nor is it as hot as previous generations. The SP8 is obviously much more powerful, you can install and run any apps that don't require a dedicated GPU fairly well. The SP8's back isn't such a fingerprint magnet like the one on the black SPX. But that's the first thing I noticed when I took out the SP8 from the box. The SPX is lighter and thiner, though if you never had an SPX then you may not notice. Not by super much, but enough to make someone who cares about battery gravitate towards the SPX more. So far what I can tell is that yes, the battery of the SPX is better. I will have an SPX SQ2 512 GB 16 GB RAM soon, so I can test them all together as well. The specs are SPX SQ1 128 GB 8 GB RAM and SP8 i5 265 GB 8 GB RAM. While I have the two devices, let me know if you got questions about them two and maybe I can answer them, and maybe one day I will put together a video! (I have the habit of shooting footage but never editing or uploading it) I won't promise in depth YouTube videos, but at the moment I have a Surface Pro X and a Surface Pro 8 because my SPX broke and I got a SP8 to replace it, but I missed the battery and lightness of the SPX so I'm going to return the SP8. Surface Pro X, Surface Pro 8, Surface Duo 2
